Lavender never felt needed
Skylar never felt wanted
But when brought together
A friendship sprouted
That would last the two
a lifetime and more.
We all truly love you Harl!
So that was how she likes to play the games. Manipulation. Every tribute had their own way about going into the games and Cora was being blatantly obvious with her tactics. Only what she hadn’t known was that Lila warned Lavender about the tricks other tributes would try to…
Lavender looked cautiously at the girl and expected the worse when she went to jump on her but she had jumped over top of her. She had felt the girl must have over aimed until she felt the cold blade slice both her knees and she fell to the ground hard. Cora was now on top of her pinning her down; she felt the blood on Cora’s blade stream its way across Lavender’s face. The girl was a completely sadistic there was no other way to see it. Lots of people’s state of minds changed because of the games but this poor sap of a girl was so messed up lavender doubted she could ever be the same ever again.
She knew the girl was most likely lying about Skylar not fighting back because Lavender knew Skylar too well to know he would never face a career, a girl or not, without putting up a fight. Lavender looked up at the girl on top of her; it was like this career practiced for a moment like this. Knowing exactly what words she would use to dig a hole of doubt into people’s minds. It was sick and Lavender needed to fight back with her own cruel words. “You are a monster, a heartless, soul-sucking monster that nobody will ever fully love. It’s really truly pathetic.”
With those words hanging in the air like icicles Lavender felt the girl push the knife into her shoulder. She gasped as the blade was ripped out of her body and an absolute horrible stinging sensation spread down her entire arm. She watched in agony as the girl rose her blade up into the sky ready to impale her once more, she shut her eyes as instinct and new that her fight was over. There was no going back now; the girl who had promised her brothers that she would fight until the very last straw was dying at the hands of the most horrid person in the entire arena. She knew too well the face that her little ones had that that very moment so she knew she had to act fast. “Just look away she isn’t worth it! I love you!” she managed to spit out before the knife had been sliced into her neck releasing a volcanic eruption of blood, spewing onto Cora’s face.
Lavender suddenly felt cold, she could no longer feel her legs, for they had seemed to disappear seconds before. The sensation was quite frightening and she wasn’t sure how to react. All that was left was the blurred vision of Cora crouching on top of her. And yet, even though she knew that Cora was there she could only see her own reflection looking down upon her. With blood leaving her in every possible place on her body she could no longer feel. But she could see a lasting image of herself looking down at her. Lavender looked up seeing her own green eyes, and soft gentle black hair, smiling her own gentle smile.
Then suddenly she felt a thump on her chest and the image she had seen of herself had turned into another image. This one had flowing red hair and fierce green eyes. The body had shifted off from over top of her and Lavender suddenly felt weightless. She looked over to see the image was now her mother becoming for her to come forward. And so she did feeling as though she was walking on clouds and suddenly a familiar face appears in the distance.
With her new battle axe in her hand, which was still strewn with Skylar’s blood, Lavender began to tromp her way in the direction Skylar’s killer had gone. She didn’t give a damn about who had heard her now because her need to hunt Cora down had clouded her mind of all she…
So that was how she likes to play the games. Manipulation. Every tribute had their own way about going into the games and Cora was being blatantly obvious with her tactics. Only what she hadn’t known was that Lila warned Lavender about the tricks other tributes would try to play on her and she wouldn’t fall into her taunts that easily. Cora apparently thought that Lavender and Skylar had been romantically involved in one way or another, yet it was the opposite. Lavender was glad she became close with Skylar but she had never even looked at him as a romantic figure in her life, she was smart enough to do otherwise.
“Oh look everyone! The dainty little Cora has turned a new leaf! So happy to strip people of their dignity. You all did see what she did to my tribute partner. Must be a lovely thing to watch now isn’t it!” she practically screams for all the cameras to hear. She knew there was a good chance the Gamemakers will choose to edit out her words but as long as Cora heard them she was satisfied. She smirked at the girls never ending taunts. Did she honestly think she could try to scare Lavender at this point; she had already been through hell seeing Skylar on the ground so reliving the moment wasn’t exactly something she hadn’t already done.
But with the blink of an eye Cora was already knocking Lavender down and cutting a good slice into her stomach. She flinched as the knife left her flesh and blood began to flow out from her torso. The girl had only left a wound that caused pain, but wouldn’t exactly cause immediate death. Cora sure did like torturing her prey before leaving them to die.
She quickly got back up and ran for the girl, she swung her axe at the girl’s neck but Cora ducked and swung back with her knife. Lila’s practice for a knife fight had sure come in handy at a time like this because she knew what to do and not to do. But the blood leaving her stomach was making it hard to stand so she ran at the girl full force, grabbed her by the wrists and slammed her head into the girls chin.
With Cora slightly disoriented Lavender swung with her axe leaving a descent sized gash in the girls left forearm. She backed off seeing as the girl was looking at her ready to pounce. It really was sad because Cora was practically the splitting image of Lavender, not exactly in beauty because Cora was much prettier then Lavender ever saw herself but in size and structure they were almost the same person. But she wouldn’t let her mind drift to seeing Cora as another person; she was just an obstacle in her way of returning home.
That is how much I love you all!
I do the EXACT same thing most nights! hahaha Love you guys! And most importantly love you Rhia! <3 <3 <3
With her new battle axe in her hand, which was still strewn with Skylar’s blood, Lavender began to tromp her way in the direction Skylar’s killer had gone. She didn’t give a damn about who had heard her now because her need to hunt Cora down had clouded her mind of all she knew was right. Stepping on twigs and crinkling leaves, she didn’t care; she was on a mission. Then all of a sudden she stops for a moment. Right on key was the cannon she knew was for Sky. It was a couple seconds late, but she knew the Gamemakers had to know he was officially dead. She felt a knot in her stomach and it was hard to breath but she tightened her grip on the axe and continued onward not giving away to her rising emotions. She felt her eye begin to twitch but with a quick flick of her head it was gone. She dug in her pocket to get the GPS out. She clicked the ON button and waited for the little dots to appear. She found where she was on the screen and wasn’t very far away from the district 2 girl.
A sinister smile spread across Lavender’s face as she planned to stalk down her prey. She was only a good fifteen minutes away from the girl and she knew she would no longer hide from tributes. She was going to kill anyone that came in her path. She knew Lila would be upset with how much noise she must be making so she decided to lighten her footsteps. “Sorry Lila I’ll try to do better.” She whispers hoping her mentor would pick up on her slight attempt at communicating with her. What she wanted to do now was to make her mentor proud. She didn’t want to be a killing machine as Cora had, but she wanted to prove she was something to be reckoned with.
She kept her pace steady knowing exactly where she was headed to find the girl. She wasn’t sure if she would be expecting her to come because Lavender wasn’t quite sure if she heard her and Skylar’s interaction. She figured if she had she would try to finish Lavender off too so she guessed that the element of surprise would be on her side. With every step she felt herself getting closer and closer to what she was striving for. This girl had better not underestimate her because she was not very right in her mind at the moment and wasn’t even sure what she was capable of doing herself.
Then a wild grin spread across her face as she saw the back of the short brown haired girl walking ahead of her. She steadied her steps, making sure the girl couldn’t hear her coming. Her gazed narrowed in and she cocked her arm up into a throwing position. Getting closer and closer now with her axe raised she made sure she got a good aim on the girl and with one swift motion let the axe fly out of her hand and into the girls side, leaving a small but painful slash in her thigh. “Oh darling don’t you know better than to walk around here without keeping a watch on who is behind you?” She sprints forward to grab her axe before the girl can grab a hold of it.
Now circling the girl with her axe in one hand and a tomahawk in the other she is prepared for the battle of her life. She knew this was going to be a hard fight so she would have to keep good eyes on the girl at all times. Lila had taught her how to fight, and taught her well, she just hoped she could deliver the battle in a way that didn’t end up in her own death. But she couldn’t think of that now, she had to only focus on the girl who is circling her with daggers in her eyes. She had to pay attention because she has chosen fight over flight and there was no going back now.
She smiles and feels him squeeze her hands one last time and with that he is gone.
Lavender wakes up to a long, lasting pain in her thigh. She realizes she has twisted her body in the sleep the stings caused, putting too much pressure on her sting. She quickly moves her body to stop the pain from spreading, when she notices she is no longer laying on…
Lavender eyes widen in absolute fear as she sees Skylar’s mouth spew with blood. She saw the wound on his neck and knew there was no way the boy could no longer create sound. She held onto his hands as tightly as she could, ignoring the pain it caused. She felt him tug one of his hands free from her grasp, and watched as he struggles to reach for his pocket. At first she is confused as to what could be so important in a time like this, then she feels the wind being knocked out of her. Her mouth hanging wide open, Skylar places a pile of bright green leaves onto her free hand. She feels all the guilt start rising up inside her knowing that it was completely her fault he is dying. She knows all he was trying to do was search for these plants she holds now and he ended up dying for some stupid plants. She feels her hand almost crushing the leaves so she stuffs them in her pocket and takes a hold of Skylar’s cheek, “Thank you” was all she could manage to get out.
Then she notices his hand straighten out and point to his boot. She turns her head to see what exactly he meant by this motion and sees some sort of can. She reaches back to grab the can and he seems satisfied with her action so she just goes along with it. She knew exactly what he was doing now, he was striping himself of anything useful to Lavender and she felt even worse inside. How could somebody be in this much pain, half dead, and still think of the well being of others. Skylar was no ordinary person and Lavender felt so honored to have gotten to know him so well. She couldn’t wrap her head around the idea of someone who grew up the way he had, and is dying this painful way could be so sincere. His eyes flickered to his side, hinting in the direction of his battle axe. He wanted her to have it and she knew that was her best weapon of any. She nods her head in acceptance, and he once again seems satisfied.
She goes to hold his hand once more when he swiftly grabs her wrist and exerts all of his power to roll up her sleeve, exposing her bare arm. Her face shows her absolute bewilderment at his action but he seems persistent in whatever he is doing. It is difficult watching his body shake uncontrollably but she soon figures out what he is trying to do. She watches as his bloody fingers for a W on her arm, next and I, and lastly an N. WIN. Her friend’s last final words as a dying tribute were for her to win. She felt her lip begin to tremble as she stared into his eyes. They were no longer the playful, funny eyes she enjoyed seeing in the training building, they were steady, strong, sending a powerful message that only the two of them would fully understand. She knew she had to win, and if she couldn’t we would fight with ever power inside her small body. She had to try; this was no longer about her or her family. This wasn’t even about Skylar anymore; this was to show everybody in The Capitol that what they were doing was morally wrong. She had a bigger picture now, and she would not let her feelings cloud that bigger picture anymore. She saw the tears on Skylar’s face but knew they were not there from emotions they were there from utter pain. She could no longer cry, no from this point forward. She had a mission and Skylar’s written words helped her realize the job she had to complete.
“I promise to finish what we have started; I will win for not only you, but for everyone back home. And if I can’t I will die conveying a clear message. The Capitol does not own us. We are no puppets to be played with.” She leans down and places a gentle kiss on Skylar’s cheek, trying to ignore the taste of his blood. She knew there was only a matter of seconds before he would leave this world, and she wanted to make him as beautiful as possible. She wiped away all the blood she could from his face, trying to be as gentle as possible. “Now my blondie boy looks beautiful” She smiles and feels him squeeze her hands one last time and with that he is gone. She bites her bottom lip extremely hard, and forces herself not to cry. She stares into his blank, cold eyes and knows he has left this cruel world. With shaking hands she reaches out to close his eyelids and strokes his blonde hair one last time. “Good bye Skylar, have fun up there” and with that she stands up walks over and grabs his axe and is out to start her new mission. To show everyone she was a force to be reckoned with. Skylar did not die in vein.
Sky barely has time to react before her knife slices across his face and he can feel the soft skin on his cheek break apart, letting loose a cascade of blood. It stings, but he doesn’t give her the satisfaction of reacting to it. He merely winces before turning his attention…
Lavender wakes up to a long, lasting pain in her thigh. She realizes she has twisted her body in the sleep the stings caused, putting too much pressure on her sting. She quickly moves her body to stop the pain from spreading, when she notices she is no longer laying on Skylar. She starts to flick her head around the tent worried something happened to him she feels her heart racing when she realizes he must have gone out to find her the plants for her stings. She takes a deep breath knowing he will be back soon, and she looks at the stings and noticing the swelling hasn’t gotten much better, but has at least stopped from growing. She rubs her eyes to clear her vision and she spots something glowing on her side. She picks up one of the two tomahawks and smiles, knowing Skylar must have put then there for her protection. She smiles running her finger over the blade, seeing it is sharpened to perfection. She latches one of the tomahawks onto her belt, and carries the other in her hand glad she could share Skylar’s tools now that they were together. She crawls over to the opening of the tent and opens the flap to a brisk wind.
She crinkles her nose, realizing just how warm it is in her tent. She stepped out of the door, and scans her surrounds. She wasn’t exactly surprised when she found Skylar wasn’t right outside, but she still didn’t like the idea of being left. She felt the cold wind brush against her bare hands, so she stuck the other tomahawk in her belt and shoved her hands in her pockets to keep warm, when she felt her GPS. She took the small object out of her pocket remembering she could find exactly where Skylar was using it. She clicked the power button on and waited for the little red dots to appear. She grinned believing herself to be clever by having this little devise, but as soon as she saw the screen the smile was gone.
There she saw Skylar and Cora’s dots overlapping each other only slightly twitching back and forth on the screen. With that she took off running, she knew it wasn’t the best idea leaving her tent there in the open, but that didn’t matter now she knew Skylar was in trouble. She felt her heart racing as she flew between trees desperately trying to reach Skylar. She hops over a log, but jumps short and falls onto the rough ground. Her hands are scraped pretty badly, but she gets back up and continues her sprint.
Panting loudly now, she finally sees a body lying on the ground, she tugs out her tomahawk not fully aware of who she will find lying on the ground. But as she gets closer she can see past all the blood, the light blonde hair she knows so well. “Sky!” She skids down beside him, seeing the nonstop flow of blood draining from his neck. She grabs his hands, and holds them to her. “No! No don’t go! Speak to me Skylar! Speak!” She felt her entire body shaking looking at the dying remains of her friend. She stared into his bright blue eyes now surrounded by glowing red; she knew exactly who had done this. She knew the bitch who left him here to die a most painful death is now roaming free, not caring a speck about the boy she left to die. Lavender knew she would avenge Skylar; Cora was going to pay for what she had done. She would hunt her down until her last dying breath.
and their response is “Bring the lotto on :)”
I just want to squeal and hug them!!!!
I LOVE PEOPLE WHO ARE GOOD SPORTS AND UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS GAME!!!
REBLOG TO SUPPORT RUE AND CINNA
Recently the actors who play Rue and Cinna have come under attack from Racist fans of the Hunger Games. Reblog if you support the casting of Amandla Stenberg, the adorable and talented actress who plays Rue, and Lenny Kravitz, the unquestionable genius who plays Cinna.
Rue was black in the book and Lenny Kravitz is a beautiful Cinna. Who do they want to play Cinna? Effie Trinket?
Rue was black in the book, and Amandla played the PERFECT Rue. Lenny Kravitz played Cinna better then I could have hoped. Rue is my favorite character so I had high expectation for her, and Amandla met them exactly. If I hear anybody talk bad about either of them I will go all out Clove on them.
OOC: Free reign for art homework? I’m thinking I’ll do some Hunger Games. :]
